Columbus PD Joins Search for Missing Cleveland Boy, 4

Authorities ask residents to look in places where a 4-year-old could hide, such as under a porch or in a bush.

Sydney, who weighs approximately 48 pounds, was reported missing about 4:30 p.m. with law enforcement arriving at the residence by 5:30 p.m. Helicopters, police dogs. the United States Coast Guard and hundreds of volunteers scoured Lake Erie, parks and neighborhoods.

Columbus is sending more officials to help in the search.

As of Saturday morning, the Sheffield Lake Police Department report that there are no new updates regarding the disappearance of 4-year-old Sidney Heidrick.

Sydney Heidrick, 4, apparently wandered away from his grandparents’ Lake Road home Friday in Sheffield Lake.

Volunteers are also playing the child’s song “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” as they search, as that is Sidney’s favorite song and he may respond to hearing it.

About 150 people were searching a wooded area, Barton said.

Police say he was in the care of his grandparents.
