Han Solo Spinoff Closing In On A Lead Actor
The search has been narrowed down to a trio of young actors for the Phil Lord and Christopher Miller directed film and they are all actors you’ll know of.

These final five are down from a long list of actors originally looked at for the role, as Disney and Lucasfilm started a worldwide casting call with THR reporting more than 2,500 actors either met with the studio or put themselves on tape for the role.
Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco, Scott Eastwood, Emory Cohen and Blake Jenner are among the almost two dozen names already linked with the role; “there could be a few other names on the list”, The Hollywood Reporter notes, though it was Egerton, Reynor and Ehrenreich who were said to have tested for the role over the weekend of March 12-13.
The actual premise for the film is still highly secret but it was revealed that Chewbacca owes a lifelong debt to his friend, who according to Vine Report, saved Chewbacca.
Disney and Lucasfilms have been working for months to find exactly the right fit for the role of Han Solo.
Frankly, we really don’t have an issue with any of the names here, but if we had to choose we’d go with Taron Egerton. Reynor is best known for his work in “Transformers: Age of Extinction” and will be returned for the upcoming installment.

Ehrenreich emerged as the biggest scene-stealer in the Coen brothers’ star-studded Hail, Caesar! The film will focus on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley. Finding the young man to take on a role made famous by Harrison Ford was no simple task.
