Google adds more ride-sharing services to Google Maps
In addition to getting the fare estimate from Google Maps, if the app is installed for the ride-sharing provider, you can tap on the result in Google Maps and be taken directly to the app. From there you will be able to complete your ride-sharing order. This new tab will make it easier for you to compare a ride service to other transportation options when you’re trying to get somewhere, especially if you use one of the five new services that are being supported by Google Maps.

The ride-sharing tab will attempt to pull up whichever options are available in your area.
With Google already counting Uber as a ride-service partner, with this update, Maps will expand to offering new ride-service options to five different countries, with Ola Cabs being offered in India, 99Taxis in Brazil, Hailo in the United Kingdom and Spain and mytaxi in Germany and Spain.
Google is also expanding its Uber support in Google Maps.
For those who still prefer Uber, Google will now provide different price options for UberX, UberXL and UberBLACK.

The new feature is rolling out to Android users over the coming days and Google says it will soon arrive for Maps on iOS devices too. And you should, because otherwise you’ll just be wasting time: “it can take precious minutes to figure out whether it’s faster to hop on a bus, walk a few blocks, find a ride-sharing service, or hail a taxi”, the company points out. It’ll be interesting to see if Lyft ever gets added in, seeing as Uber and Lyft have been playing dirty lately, with one leaving nasty, untrue reviews about the others’ service.
