Florida Presidential Primary Could be Key in Nominations

“He did feel comfortable that he presented real-time options to voters”, Detzner said.

“People like the choices they have in voting”, he said. Some of those, however, were independent and minor party voters who cast ballots in municipal elections.

At least half of voters in each state say each of the two candidates’ positions on the issues are “about right”, though voters are generally more likely to say Sanders’ policies are too liberal than not liberal enough and to say the opposite about Clinton.

As seen in earlier primaries, voters who made up the minds close to the primary were less inclined to support Trump.

Among Democrats about a quarter made their vote decision in the last week, except in Florida, where less than a fifth were late deciders. A handful of states also hold a hybrid presidential primary.

“Traditionally they haven’t voted in primaries”, Bucher said.

She attributed some of that to the amount of absentee ballots and early voters. Names on the Republican ballot in the Sunshine State are Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina, Jim Gilmore, Lindsey Graham, Mike Huckabee, John R. Kasich, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Rick Santorum … and Donald J. Trump.

The results among all those voting in each contest have a margin of sampling error ranging of either plus or minus 4 percentage points or plus or minus 5 percentage points.
