Investigators were able to determine what vehicle Snyder was driving and that he was in central Wisconsin, apparently driving southbound.

The gunbattle lasted only about 17 seconds.
“Trevor went above and beyond what any of us expect of a police officer”, said Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney.
Toney said Casper kept his distance and calmly radioed in reports of his position.
Captain Tony Burrell with the Wisconsin State Patrol read a statement Thursday, on behalf o the Casper family, thanking the community for their prayers and support. The magazine failed and Snyder tried to run, but Casper fired 12 shots, including one round that hit Snyder in the back and passed through his heart.
Within a couple of hours of this bank robbery, FBI agents from Michigan and Wisconsin networked and were attempting to locate Steven Timothy Snyder to see if he could be responsible for the bank robbery in Wasaukee.
Toney’s report said Snyder’s wife had, on March 13, provided details to the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Department about his involvement in bank robberies dating to 2011.
Police believe that citizen Thomas Christ came upon the robbery suspect and may have confronted him about parking his auto on or near Christ’s property. The lone Caucasian male bank robber, armed with a semi-auto pistol, shot one round in to the ceiling of the bank, before stealing an employee’s vehicle to drive to where his getaway car was parked.
Snyder then traveled from Marinette County through Oshkosh and into Fond du Lac County. A criminal complaint says Griffin stood on the boy’s chest and abdomen, causing his death July 7.
Toney says Snyder had a two guns on him and 1s37 unspent bullets. Still, Toney said, Casper maneuvered around his vehicle to keep Snyder in view. “Trooper Casper exited his squad auto and was shot two more times”, Toney said.

Meanwhile, Snyder was moving around Casper’s vehicle, trying to reload his gun with a 21-bullet magazine.
Authorities say a Michigan man killed in a shootout in which a Wisconsin state trooper also died was responsible for nine bank robberies. “And always put others before himself”.

“We will miss Trevor’s visits, calls, texts and snapchats”, the statement said.
