According to Worthy’s office, Cleaves and a group went to a local bar after the golf outing to have drinks.

Cleaves is expected to turn himself in for processing and appear for arraignment in 67th District Court in Genesee County at 9 a.m. Thursday.

They say Cleaves took the woman to a motel, which we’ve learned was the Knights Inn on Grand Blanc Road, after co-hosting a charity golf event earlier in the day.

The woman was able to escape from the room and received assistance from another woman in a nearby room, officials said. The counts are punishable by up to 10 to 15 years in prison.

Cleaves, former star of the 2000 NCAA Champion MSU basketball team, has been working at Fox Sports Detroit since 2010 after retiring from the NBA in 2009.

The Mundy Township Police Department investigated the incident but declined to release additional details on the case today.

The case was transferred to Wayne County in October after Genesee County prosecutor David Leyton requested the transfer due to a possible conflict of interest with a potential witness in the case.
