What’s the most congested traffic corridor in Portland?

Honolulu is now ranked No. 10 for the most hours wasted in traffic in 2015 versus No. 2 in 2013, according to data from INRIX Inc., an analytics company that specializes in transportation. This can be attributed to a sluggish Europe-wide economy, with an average quarterly GDP growth rate of 0.3 per cent in the second half of previous year, which remains below the pre-crisis peak of 2008.

London has been named as the world’s most congested city, with drivers spending an average of 101 hours sitting in gridlock each year.

Of 100 cities, worldwide, London topped the list, with drivers wasting an average of 101 hours, or more than four days, in gridlock in 2015.

“London is the victim of its own success, with a robust jobs market and a growing economy attracting more people”, said Bryan Mistele, President & CEO, INRIX.

Los Angeles once again has the dubious distinction of the worst traffic in the United States, according to a new study released Tuesday.

Channel 9 has learned that Americans wasted 8 billion hours in traffic in 2015 – many of those hours spent in and around Charlotte.

The report cites roadworks on the M2 as one of the possible causes of the increased congestion in the city.

The biggest increase outside of London was in Belfast, where drivers sat idle for 38 hours, impacted by roadworks on the M2 as a result of a road improvement scheme[i].

Seattle is still pretty far behind Los Angeles (81 hours) and San Francisco (75 hours) but finds itself fairly close to New York City (73 hours) and Boston (64 hours).
