Angels acquire infielder Conor Gillaspie from White Sox

Gillaspie was traded to the Angels on Friday in exchange for cash considerations, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

He’d been designated for assignment by the White Sox last Sunday.

Freese must choose a support on his non-displaced splinter for a couple of a few weeks prior to Angels identify how far longer he’ll be out.

It is unknown whether Gillaspie’s struggles are due to his ongoing battle with plantar fasciitis, but with the Sox difficulties catching (and hitting) the ball, the writing had been on the wall for some time with Conor. 237 with three home runs, 15 runs batted in, 11 doubles and 10 runs in a limited role this season, starting 52 games, 50 at third-base.
