Trump stands by his campaign rhetoric
“If he doesn’t win on the first ballot, I can not imagine a scenario where he wins”, said Republican consultant Craig Stevens, a veteran of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign.

With his rivals mostly blaming him for the Chicago melee and rising tensions, Trump counters that he’s due credit for canceling the Friday rally and avoiding a worse outcome.
Trump’s contentious campaign has been marked by harsh rhetoric against illegal Mexican immigrants and Muslims. “But if Trump is not able to secure a majority of the delegates in those states, then it becomes interesting”, Smith said. He has also suggested a tactical vote to stop Trump – encouraging his supporters in OH to cast their vote for Kasich.
“I am anxious about it”, Jordan Vashey, 25, who served two tours in Afghanistan with the Marines said before heading into Trump’s outdoor rally in Florida. Opinion polls show him leading in all five states except OH, where he is in a tight race with Kasich.
Across 15 states where exit polls were conducted, Trump was the choice of about 43 percent of voters who picked their candidate more than a week before their state’s contests – far more than any of his rivals.
“Ohio is a real contest on both sides”, said Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac Poll, in a release.
“I look at the other candidates, they just do not measure up like our own governor does”, said Chris Dickens, a Kasich supporter.
Sanders denies that his campaign was responsible for the disruption.
“I think that whoever gets the most delegates should win”, he said at the debate. Trump was back in IL today, again greeted by protesters, who were escorted out of the rally peacefully.
When a protester interrupted his speech on Sunday at an airport hangar in Bloomington, Illinois, minutes after it began, Trump derided him as a “disrupter” and told the cheering crowd: “Don’t worry about it – I don’t hear their voice”. Trump has blamed Sanders supporters for inciting scuffles and disturbances, which led to the cancellation of a rally in Chicago Friday night.
Trump accused supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders for the protests at his event over the weekend.
Bernie Sanders told NBC News’ Chuck Todd on Monday that Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump is enticing supporters to commit acts of violence by offering to pay their legal fees. In Arkansas, Trump won about 34 percent of early voters, more than any other candidate, and also went on to win the state. “We don’t pledge allegiance to a man. We pledge allegiance to a flag”.
Indeed, some protesters at Trump events are seen carrying Sanders’ campaign signs, but Sanders said Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation” that it’s “a lie” to suggest “our campaign is telling people to disrupt his campaign”.
