Buried knife found at OJ Simpson’s former estate
Police say they have recovered a knife apparently found at OJ Simpson’s former estate where his ex-wife and her friend were murdered.

Andrew Neiman told NBC4 Friday morning that police are investigating the report.
The Los Angeles Police Department on Friday confirmed the existence of a knife found years ago on the Brentwood property that once belonged to former National Football League great O.J. Simpson, who in 1995 was acquitted in the stabbing death of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and friend Ron Goldman.
” Finding the knife that killed the two had been an obsession of police and others in the wake of the murders.
“A 15-inch knife with a retractable blade that Simpson purchased at Ross Cutlery in downtown Los Angeles briefly tantalized prosecutors in his criminal trial”. But the story takes a peculiar turn as TMZ has also reported the official took the incriminating blade home and held on to it, unbeknown to anyone else.
But Neiman repeatedly cautioned that the LAPD has not independently confirmed the retired police officer’s story about the knife’s origins, noting that the knife could be a “facsimile” or that the account of the knife’s discovery could be inaccurate.
Capt Neiman said they were conducting body fluid, DNA and hair sample tests on the weapon.
And Neiman said investigators want to know the identity of the person who allegedly found the knife.
TMZ reports he contacted a friend in the department because he wanted to have the knife framed with the case number from the Nicole Brown Simpson/Ronald Goldman murder engraved in the frame.
That’s because of America’s common law against double-jeopardy, which ensures that a person can’t be brought forth on the same charges on more than one occasion.
“I was really surprised.it was quite a shock”, Neiman said.

Simpson was found not guilty of two counts of murder, after a highly publicised eight-month trial, which meant the case was left wide open. He’s now imprisoned in Nevada on a robbery-kidnap conviction.
