Modi arrived in Bihar today to attend the closing ceremony of the Patna High Court centenary celebrations. On the dais both the Prime Minister and Kumar were seen smiling and talking to each other. The dream of that time is being realised now. “This money belongs to people”, he said.
BJP leaders from Bihar who are in the Modi Cabinet, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Ravi Shankar Prasad, told journalists that “we all should work together for the development of Bihar and if Nitish Kumar is cooperating with the Central Government we must welcome it”.
During the day-long event, he also inaugurated two rail- cum-road bridges in Patna and Munger, besides laying the foundation for an additional rail bridge across the Ganga at Mokama.
“If it was not neglected for the last ten years, then it would have been completed in five-seven years”.
Modi was sharing the stage with Kumar for the first time after the two traded barbs during the Bihar assembly election campaign a year ago.
In an apparent attack on the Congress, Modi said that electricity had not reached 18,000 villages of the country even after 70 years of Independence. The nerve centre for India’s development lies in eastern India, he asserted. Calling for unity among all political parties and other stakeholders on the issue, the CM said Bihar has bettered its growth rate in the last few years, but is still far behind the national average on many development indices. “This could help create an atmosphere to come out of the problem of pendency of case”, he said addressing the gathering.
“But the development of India is linked to development of eastern India and development of Bihar will be crucial for the uplift of eastern parts of our country”, he said.
Modi also expressed concern over the large number of cases pending in courts for years, saying there is a need to tackle them with speed.
“I can guess the importance of this bridge looking at the excitement of the people here”. “This project was initiated when Nitish Kumar was Railway Minister and Atal ji was Prime Minister”.

Wishing the institution on the occasion, the Prime Minister hoped the country will get a lot from the High Court in the coming time.
