Sinatra Family: Frank Sinatra Jr. has died
News of Sinatra Jr.’s death arrived through Associated Press, with whom the Sinatra family confirmed that the singer had died of an unexpected heart attack in Daytona Beach, FL. He was on tour at the time. But he usually watched from a distance, as Sinatra was constantly away on tours and making movies.

Sinatra Jr. was also known for frequently singing the Star Spangled Banner and his father’s song, “New York, New York” at New York Yankees baseball games. “I didn’t want anybody to know my father was my father”, Jones said.
He was scheduled to perform next on March 17 at the Mahaffey Theater in St Petersburg, Florida, and then on May 19 at the Adler Theater in Davenport, Iowa. He was held on $240,000 ransom for four days by former high school classmates Barry Keenan and Joe Amsler.
“I am shocked and devastated at the loss of my lifelong friend Frank Sinatra Jr.” she told Entertainment Tonight. Who knows – I didn’t ask him that during either of the two conversations we had over the past two years.
Larry King tweeted, “I always admired Frank Sinatra Jr”.
Sinatra was just starting his career in music at the time and was kidnapped.
Sinatra Jr is survived by his sisters Nancy and Tina, and his son, Michael. More recently, Sinatra had a guest spot playing himself on “The Sopranos” and later appeared on two episodes of “Family Guy”.
Sinatra Jr. was also candid about the state of his career, which had relied heavily in recent years on performing tributes of his father’s work.

However, numerous comparisons to his father and the album’s seemingly dated material – it was a collection of standards during the height of Beatlemania – often made the younger Sinatra the butt of jokes.
