Florida governor calls on GOP to unite behind Trump
GOP leaders may now look to Kasich as their final chance to unite behind a candidate who could challenge Trump in the event of a contested convention.

Having won 621 delegates so far by Wednesday morning, Trump must win another 616 delegates to reach the simple majority of pledged delegates needed to secure the party’s nomination at its convention in July.
The day after Donald Trump won the Republican primary in Florida, the state’s GOP governor called on the party to “accept and respect the will of the voters” and coalesce behind the real estate mogul.
I’m talking about Missouri and North Carolina, where Ted Cruz beat Trump in a one-on-one race in the exit polls.
The magic number of delegates for Trump is 1,237-that will all but guarantee him the nomination, short of some extraordinary rule change. “Tonight we continued to gain delegates and continue our march to 1,237”, Cruz said.
Despite his distant showing, Gov. John Kasich believes after his win in OH that he has a path to victory.
“It’s been my intention to make you proud”, Mr Kasich told a roaring crowd in OH, adding a favourite line: “I will not take the low road to the highest office in the land”.
“I don’t think you can say that we don’t get it automatically”. “We can’t lose what made America great in the first place, and this isn’t just about Donald Trump”, Clinton told supporters.
Mr Trump said many of his supporters – disenfranchised Americans who normally steer clear of politics – were already seething about what they perceived as a political and economic system that was rigged against them. “I think that would be an absolute disaster”.
Still, there are plenty of ways the delegate math can go haywire for him. “And these people are going to be negotiating our deals and they’re they best in the world”, he said.
Tweeted Clinton, “Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri: We did it. And together, we’re going to win this nomination”.
The Republican race remained in turmoil on Tuesday, and Trump threatened riots will erupt in the streets if the party denies him nomination.

“I intend to win, I hope I win”, Trump said. Trump’s latest political victim, US Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, was beaten badly by the billionaire in his home state and suspended his campaign.
