Donald Trump warns of riots if denied Republican presidential nomination

In Missouri, Cruz and Trump were in a dead heat into the early hours of the morning, each raking in a tad less than 41%.

Meanwhile, the Republican presidential debate scheduled for Monday in Salt Lake City has been canceled after Trump and Kasich said they would not attend. Trump did not name any. Trump won three states at play including the winner-take-all state of Florida…while Clinton defeated Bernie Sanders in four contests.

Now, it would be easier to see this working if Cruz were building up a head of steam, or if Kasich showed any ability to win outside the state of which he is governor. “We can’t lose what made America great in the first place”, she said amid applause and cheer from her supporters in West palm Beach, Florida.

Donald Trump warned Wednesday that “riots” could break out if he is denied the Republican presidential nomination despite having won most of the party’s primary and caucus elections.

The New York billionaire scored big wins in primaries in Florida, Illinois and North Carolina on Tuesday which brought him closer to the 1,237 delegates he needs to win the nomination.

Tuesday night’s primary races in Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, Missouri and OH are expected to most consequential yet of the primary calendar and determine whether the race for the White House is going to be a long slog for both parties. Ted Cruz is his closest competitor with 396 delegates so far. Even if Kasich drops out, would Cruz flop in head-to-head match-ups against Trump now that states with large evangelical populations are done voting?

Until last night, he was the only other candidate, other than Trump, to win more than one state this primary cycle. A small group of conservatives moved forward with plans to meet Thursday to discuss the prospect of rallying behind a third-party option, but no candidate had been identified to lead that effort.

Will enough California Republicans want a contested convention?

Trump stressed that he represents “many millions of people” who fervently support his candidacy. It’s hard to know who will be on the committee.

GOP contenders need to amass a total of 1,237 delegates in order to secure a nomination. His campaign hasn’t been shy about its strategy, even outlining in a memo that they don’t believe any candidate will capture a majority of delegates before the GOP convention in Cleveland.

Trump won 152 delegates Tuesday – twice that of John Kasich, his nearest rival in Tuesday’s votes. All 66 OH delegates will go to Kasich.

More than half the states have voted, but delegate-heavy ones, like NY and California, remain ripe for the picking. Polls have shown Florida Sen. “The way to beat Donald Trump is at the ballot box”, the Texas senator said on “New Day”. But with her victory in OH too, she can blunt the Sanders campaign criticism that she’s just a regional candidate. Her win in OH was a particular relief for her campaign, which grew anxious after Sanders pulled off a surprising win last week in MI.

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton is projected to defeat Sen.

On the Democratic side, Clinton has at least 1,561 delegates, including the superdelegates who are elected officials and party leaders free to support the candidate of their choice. “Sanders over the next few weeks would have little impact”.
