Since its inception in 1998, Tow to Go has safely removed more than 24,000 impaired drivers from roads across the Southeast, according to AAA.

If you indulge in a little bit too much green beer on Thursday or down one too many Irish auto bombs, don’t rely on luck to steer you home safe.

AAA is offering drivers who don’t have the option of a designated driver, calling a cab or staying where you are celebrating another safe choice this St. Patrick’s Day. Additional passengers will be taken to the driver’s home if there is enough room for them to be taken safely in the tow truck. “Every time we climb behind the wheel after drinking, we’re rolling the dice”. You can not make a reservation.

The program, which is free for AAA members and non-members, keeps unsafe drivers off the road by transporting a person and their vehicle home or somewhere within 10 miles. The rate of drunk drivers is highest among 26 to 29 year olds. You can’t put a price tag on a crash that causes an injury or death.
