Trump’s Talk of ‘Riots’ If He’s Denied Nomination Draws Fire
Former Chairman of the Republican National Committee, Michael Steele says he expects pandemonium at the Convention this summer in Cleveland if the party tries to take the nomination away from Donald Trump.

Trump isn’t quite foolish enough to say any of these things explicitly. The Times said California is “winnable” for Trump although “it could be a hard state for him” since America’s most populous state “includes a mix of well-educated voters who could support Kasich and conservative voters who could support Cruz”. The RNC has consistently raised millions more than its Democratic counterpart in recent years.
Trump himself hinted at the unrest that could come if he enters the convention with the most delegates but is denied the nomination.
Trump needs to win about 55 per cent of the roughly 1100 delegates still up for grabs in state-by-state nominating contests to guarantee the nomination. “If we don’t have a nominee who can win on the first ballot (at the convention), I’m for none of the above”, Boehner said at an industry conference in Florida on Tuesday, adding, . And the race to influence those delegate selections is in overdrive, with the Trump and Ted Cruz campaigns forming teams to track who is in the running for delegate positions, jockey for their preferred candidates, and identify potential crossover supporters.
The opponents did not even rally around Ted Cruz, or any other candidate who can overtake Trump in the delegate count. But I lean toward the view that Trump is better off if his opposition is split between the OH governor and the Texas senator.
Meanwhile, Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton set her sights on a November showdown with Trump. In the case of Cruz, he would need to win the vast majority of the remaining delegates to secure the nomination, which the New York Times said is “a near impossibility”.
Wisconsin is likely to become a focus for the three remaining Republican candidates starting next week, after primaries on Tuesday in Arizona and Utah.
The number of groups not affiliated with a specific candidate that have produced anti-Trump ads appears to be growing.
Despite the deep concerns about Trump within the Republican Party, there was little tangible action Wednesday that indicated a way to stop the real estate mogul’s march toward the general election.
Here’s a closer look at how and why the Republican Party might end up with a contested convention to pick its presidential candidate.
There was discussion that if Trump became GOP nominee, then “the GOP ceases to be a party for traditional conservatives, who must go elsewhere”, according to the source familiar with the discussion. John McCain have both spoken out against Trump as well.
The Republican Party has 112 super-delegates, basically state party bosses, and they can back whomever they want, or follow the directive of the party “high command”.

If the convention is contested and the 2nd Congressional District victor gets less than a third of the first floor vote, Grabins said he’ll likely play it by ear as to what to do next. In a year full of surprises, we may just find out.
