The micro-blogging website, which extended the direct messages limit from 140 characters to 10,000 characters in August 2015, has been looking into ways for attracting more users to the platform.

The company is said to be doing so to lure new users. With the constraint of only 140 characters, there’s only so much you can say. So, his company is experimenting with new features based on what its users are now doing. “We’re always going to make Twitter better”, he was quoted as saying in a Tech Crunch report on Saturday. But the features will be consistent with what the users want to do.

As with Dorsey’s attempt to defuse algorithmgate, his latest statement on the character limit may simply come down to semantics.

Breitbart’s Milo Yiannopoulos recently accused Twitter of “gearing up to purge conservatives” after the social media platform informed him that he lost his blue Verified checkmark for “recent violations of the Twitter rules”.
