Mr Kasich’s win in OH, his first in the nominating fight, makes him the candidate of choice for party leaders anxious Mr Trump’s rowdy campaign will lead Republicans to defeat not only in the presidential race, but in state and U.S. congressional races.
Trump, who lost in OH to Gov. John Kasich, also predicted a healing process in the GOP after the “war”.
Clinton, meanwhile, would have won five states Tuesday with wider victories in Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, and Ohio.

John Kasich, buoyed after his home state delivered his first presidential primary victory, declared Wednesday that his chances of clinching the Republican nomination are just as good as his opponents. Ted Cruz of Texas, but he still could finish short of the 1,237 delegates needed for a majority.
At a convention delegates will have to determine ‘who can run the country, who has the record and who can win’.
“Nobody is going to have enough delegates”, he said.
But Cruz painted the race ahead as a two-man contest between him and Trump, reminding his supporters that he had beaten Trump “Over and over and over again” in previous primaries. They’re going to leave us a fractured nation.
While there is no winner-take-all ruling on the side of the Democrats, Mrs Clinton’s campaign is gaining even more momentum as the primaries move on to states such as Utah and Arizona on March 22.
