Swansea City vs Aston Villa: Preview & Prediction
Rock-bottom Villa are nine points adrift of safety with eight matches remaining having won only three Premier League games all season, while Swansea could move 11-points clear of the bottom three by completing a season’s double at the Liberty Stadium, live on Saturday Night Football from 5.30pm.

Aston Villa: (4-2-3-1) Guzan; Hutton, Clark (Green 62), Lescott, Cissokho; Westwood, Gueye; Ayew, Gil (Agbonlahor 74), Veretout; Gestede.
We had a good run of two consecutive wins over Arsenal and Norwich, then we had a setback against Bournemouth last weekend.
Francesco Guidolin will be back in the dugout for Villa’s visit after missing the last three matches following a chest infection. I know this situation because I have many matches behind me and know how hard a match like this is. Both teams are on the bottom portion of the ladder and three points will mean a lot here but too be honest I can only see this game going one way. Chief executive Tom Fox resigned on Thursday just 48 hours after sporting director Hendrik Almstadt left.
“I’m not working and living only for my reputation – I’m not living for the past, I’m living for the future”.
Modou Barrow scored his first goal for Swansea at the Vitality Stadium last time out and is expected to overcome a hamstring niggle to feature once more, although Andre Ayew is likely to miss out on facing Villa and his brother Jordan due to an ankle injury.
The table certainly doesn’t lie, and Aston Villa will stay at the foot of the Premier League.
Last weekend produced a similar story to the rest of their season so far – their 2-0 defeat at home to Tottenham was their fifth in a row and the third time in five matches they had failed to score.
– Villa have already equalled their worst tally of Premier League defeats in a single season (20 – set in 2015/16, 2014/15 and 2013/14).
