Diego Costa: Suspended two matches

The Dutchman took over at Stamford Bridge in December after the club made a poor start to the season under Jose Mourinho.

Television replays showed Costa nuzzling his mouth into Gareth Barry’s neck in what initially looked like an attempted bite by the temperamental Spain forward.

And to make Lyons’ day complete, Everton booked their place in the FA Cup semi-final with a 2-0 win over Chelsea thanks to two goals from Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.

“The player has until 6pm on Thursday 17 March 2016 to respond to his misconduct charge in relation to the same game”.

“If you cannot prove the bite sometimes, in my opinion, they are looking a bit for where they can chase him”.

‘Maybe there was a little bit of searching for where we can get Diego, and there he was frustrated’.

“They are in a mood now and so statistics about the past don’t say much to me”, he said. He will see if he gets the other game as well.

Costa is no stranger to controversy and has a reputation for antagonising opponents.

He added: “We’ve talked many times about him playing on the edge and his reactions, and we’re still happy with his performances”.

Moments after Lukaku demonstrated his excellence, Chelsea target man Costa could only offer up another striking example of his pointless “angry young man” impressions.

“My plan is not to plan anything”, Hiddink insisted.

“It’s hard for me to make a judgement – I think he was tripped on the line”.

“The Euros are in June and I will follow that”.

He told the club’s official website: “I like to help and guide young players on how you go into your career, plan a career, what you have to focus on”. I did want to work in football before. He’s someone charismatic and I have a lot of respect for this man.

“It must be fresh”.
