A relieved R. Sreesanth, who was acquitted together with forty one different accused within the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal, has stated that he wants the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) permission to use its facilities so as to regain health and stake his declare for the Indian workforce.

The court on Saturday discharged cricketers Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan and 33 others who were chargesheeted by the Delhi Police in connection with the spot fixing scandal that rocked the 2013 edition of the cash-rich Twenty20 tournament.
Delhi police also said at the time of their arrest that his teammates agreed to similar deals in two other IPL matches.
The BCCI had slapped a life ban on Sreesanth and Chavan, but the court verdict now clears them of all charges leaving the BCCI in a tight position.
The Delhi Police, on May 16, 2013, arrested the three cricketers along with Sreesanth’s friend and alleged booking Jiju Janardhan and 10 other bookies. The case involves cricketers S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan.
“So far I just know that I have been given a discharge and now I am looking forward to play cricket”.
Sreesanth exuded confidence that the verdict would be in his favour.
The case has been dropped in its entirety due to absence of sufficient evidence. “It has proved that Delhi Court had wrongly accused them”, the advocate representing the accused was quoted as saying. All 36 accused are presently out on bail.

The court had on May 23 reserved for today the order on framing of charges in the case. The phone records analysed during the investigation clearly exposes the three accused as key pawns in the multi-crore crime syndicate, said the police in a written argument.

The decision comes after the Supreme Court appointed Lodha committee banned Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and Shilpa Shetty-owned Rajasthan Royals (RR) for two years.
