The core PS VR bundle, which has a suggested retail price of $399.99 United States dollars / $549.99 CAD, is not available for pre-order.

Sony confirmed that the PlayStation VR headset will be released later this October at a price US$399 (around RM1650) and it is also already made available for pre-orders. “We expect to have more than 50 games available from launch in October 2016 until the end of the year”. The Playroom VR will include six games that can be enjoyed with friends and family, demonstrating why we believe VR can also be an impactful experience when it’s shared.

According to Tech Insider, president of Sony’s Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida and a representative revealed during an interview with them that a bundle would indeed be coming as well. Combine those two tidbits of news with Sony’s warning to developers that VR games can’t run under 60 FPS and you’ve got quite the news week for one piece of hardware. The game will use the Social Screen feature of PlayStation VR to allow another player to play the game without using the PlayStation VR headset.

The “PlayStation VR Launch Bundle” costs $499.99, adding $100 to the base price for just a headset. However, it will not be bundled with PlayStation Move controllers or the PlayStation Camera, which costs about $60.

You’ll note that Sony are selling theirs for a fair bit cheaper than their VR rivals HTC Vive (around £700) and Facebook’s Oculus Rift (going for around £500).
