NHC Board of Elections director expects high voter turnout
For the first time, IL residents can register to vote and cast ballots on the same day at all polling sites.

Confusion: Voters might be a bit confused when they see this year’s ballot, particularly when it comes to Republican presidential contenders.
Here’s why: There are two spots to a pick a candidate for the presidential race. Voters who are not registered to vote can register and vote at their home precinct only, on Election Day.
But Sheri Scott, a customer service worker and single mother of three, voted for Sanders, saying she thinks the US senator from Vermont has a better shot against Trump because she believes he’s more trustworthy than Clinton.
More than 230,000 early ballots have been cast in Cook County with almost 130,000 of them in Chicago and more than 100,000 in the suburbs.

The 65-year-old retiree says she “can’t stand him” and jokes that if Trump wins, she’ll “go back to Africa”, adding, “And I’ve never been”.
