In reply, Pakistan got off to a good start by posting 40 in the first eight overs without losing a wicket, however, offspinner Anisa Mohammed claimed three quick wickets to turn the match in West Indies favour.

Earlier, batting first, West Indies women posted 148 runs for four wickets after winning the toss. Taylor scored 40 runs, with two boundaries and a six in her 41-ball innings. Taylor kicked off with a four, neatly piercing the gap between mid-off and cover, to bring up the first boundary of the game before Matthews hit another to pick 10 off the first over. Openers Hayley Matthews and Stafanie Taylor led the Carribean charge with a 67-run opening partnership.

After Akter had sent Taylor back to the pavilion, Deandra Dottin (24) and Stacy-Ann King, who remained unbeaten on 20, helped the West Indies to post a strong finish.

Amin was ably supported by Sadia Yousuf, who bagged two wickets for 14 runs in her three overs.

Nahida was easily the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh Women, finishing with 3 for 27 in his four overs.

It was a position they never recovered from and found themselves requiring 12 of the final over bowled by Deandra Dottin. Bangladesh Women will hope to get over the line as they have already lost both their matches in the tournament.

Captain Stafanie Taylor, leading from the front, displayed an excellent allround performance.

The brief 15-run stand between Nigar Sultana and Rumana Ahmed was halted by Taylor as Amy Fletcher caught the latter on 4.

West Indies women have won both their matches in the ongoing edition of the World T20
