Areas of DeKalb County are without water after a water main sent water gushing from a pipe.

The City of Decatur has stated on Facebook that Slide in the City is definitely on for this afternoon, despite DeKalb County’s recent water pressure struggles.
Water pressure has since been restored to the site.
The water main fix did not hold.
Officials say DeKalb County residents should boil water they intend to use for drinking, cooking or preparing baby food until further notice. County officials have not issued a boil water advisory.
The water main seemed fixed overnight broke again Saturday and threatened to disrupt the entire county’s water supply. After the test results are available, DeKalb County in conjunction with the EPD, will provide an update to the boil water status.

The whole area is blocked off while crews work to make repairs. The delay was exacerbated by the presence of several other utilities at the same location, including electricity, natural gas, telephone, roads, and other water lines.
