Cruz picks up support of Utah’s lieutenant governor

Polls show him performing much better than Mr Trump or rival candidate Senator Ted Cruz in a general election match-up against Hillary Clinton.

“He questioned Mitt Romney’s Mormon faith”, Cox said to a chorus of boos.

Kasich was equally dismissive about the prospects of him joining a Cruz-led ticket.

From left, Donna Sackett, Rusty Larson, and Jolleen Larson hang a banner for Cruz at a rally for the senator from Texas and Sen.

Now, he said, “People are starting to hear me, and we’re starting to rise”. “I will leave the floor of that convention and I will leave the Republican Party forever”.

For hours, about two dozen protesters parked their cars in the middle of the main road to the event, unfurling banners reading “Dump Trump” and “Must Stop Trump”, and chanting “Trump is hate”.

If Donald Trump becomes the Republican Party’s nominee, Utahns would vote for a Democrat for president in November for the first time in more than 50 years, according to a new Deseret News/KSL poll. He is campaigning in the state with Utah’s Sen. And demographically speaking, Mormons tend to reside outside Trump’s base of support anyway.

None of the candidates had made public campaign appearances in the state prior to this weekend.

The Ohio governor called GOP front-runner Donald Trump’s suggestion that there would be riots if he doesn’t get the nomination “outrageous”, condemning the violence Trump has seemingly incited at his rallies across the country. “Do I love the Mormons?”

Trump attacked Romney for working with multiple candidates. “I think I will get over that number”, Trump told “This Week”.

Romney doesn’t share Okerlund’s opinion, and did his best during a nationally-broadcast speech this month to scare voters away from Trump. “Senator Rubio’s campaign suspension this week boosted Cruz into a position to take it all”, said Riding. “Everyone will fall short”, Kasich said.

It would have been the state’s first presidential debate, and residents were excited for the opportunity to take a rare spot on center stage of a presidential election trail. Phil Gramm, who ran for president in 1996, issued a statement endorsing Cruz as a “fearless leader” and promised to work for his election. We care about our neighbors.

Trump Jr. said remarks his father has made in the past to people like Howard Stern, such as “A person who is very flat-chested is very hard to be a 10”, were made in jest and do not reflect his father’s real colors nor opinions toward women. “He does not represent neither goodness nor kindness”.
