– AFP pic, July 26, 2015.At least 19 people were killed in a suicide bombing in the northern Cameroonian town of Maroua on Saturday, a local military commander said, just three days after twin bombings there suspected to have been carried out by Boko Haram.

Wednesday’s attacks saw a female, disguised as a merchant and a nine-year-old girl dressed as a beggar setting off bombs.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. “Security forces have sealed off the area and have made several arrests”, state TV said.
Nigerian militant group Boko Haram were blamed for the terrorist attacks, reports said.
Maroua has been under heavy security for months as the threat from Boko Haram has grown, with motorbikes – which the insurgents often use to stage their raids – banned from the streets after dark.
Saturday’s was the fifth suicide attack to hit Cameroon in two weeks. Also, a resident in the town told of “a loud explosion”, saying they had learnt there was an attack at a large bar named “Boucan”.

Other bomb explosions rocked two northern cities of Cameroon last Monday and on July 12, killing 23 and 10 people respectively. Over 60 people were injured and the death toll was expected to rise. “One of them, from all the indications, was the suicide bomber”, added the nurse from the Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital, who requested anonymity. Adamawa state borders Borno state, Boko Haram’s birth place and main stronghold. At least 11 people were killed and 32 others were wounded in the Wednesday attacks at the entrance to a market and a nearby neighborhood.
