Apple releases small new iPhone, iPad for business use

The four inched iPhone SE had been in the rumors for a really long time now, and hopefully, all of this would be put to rest tomorrow as the company officially releases these latest devices.

A four-inch iPhone isn’t likely to see the kind of blockbuster demand that Apple enjoyed with its large-screen iPhone 6 and 6S models, according to several financial analysts, but it could help Apple boost overall sales and draw some additional users into the market for Apple’s online services, including Apple Music, Apple Pay and the highly profitable mobile App Store.

While updates to the iPad will likely take a back seat to the expected iPhone announcement, many expect Apple to show off an updated iPad Air model – however, there isn’t much speculation about what those upgrades might be.

The iPhone SE may come in the same gold, rose gold, silver and space gray color options as its larger siblings, but its storage options are expected to be limited to 16GB and 64GB. Externally it bears only minor design changes.

According to the rumour mill, the phone will likely feature Apple’s latest iPhone technology, including the A8 chip, 8-megapixel camera and Touch ID fingerprint scanning technology. By comparison, Milunovich estimates Apple has sold 265 million of the larger iPhone 6 models over the last two years. “Depending on the reception, Apple might need to drop the price point further”. With that said, we have made a decision to give Apple fans and techies in general a few tips on how to watch Apple’s “Let Us Loop You In” event as it happens. It now starts at $299. However, this box clearly mentions the device to be labeled the iPhone SE. Among these would be to utilize add-ons and extensions to modify users’ browser settings. “But we believe we have a responsibility to protect your data and to protect your privacy”. “We will not shrink from this responsibility”.

On Tuesday, representatives from Apple and the Federal Bureau of Investigation will appear before a judge in the District Court of the Central District of California to argue their cases. But analysts say it’s becoming harder for Apple and other smartphone manufacturers to come up with dramatic improvements to differentiate their products. Apple’s launch events were earlier exclusive to iOS users only. But while Apple may use the event to bring consumers and analysts up to speed about its upcoming products, the introduction of the smaller iPhone may be more about the company closing off a loop left open when it stepped away from small-faced phones. With a 9.7-inch display, the rumored iPad will look similar to the iPad Air line. But inside it will have the Pro’s speedier processor.
