Amidst all this furore, a few reports popped up that claimed that the game will be getting an a day one patch, so the resolution could, in fact, change by the time most people got their hands on the game.

On Saturday, news broke out that the hotly anticipated Xbox One/Windows 10 exclusive Quantum Break will run only at a resolution of 720p on the Xbox One- something that came as a bit of a surprise to a lot of people, who have been sold on Quantum Break over the last two years based on its promise as a graphical showpiece for Microsoft’s new console. A report from Digital Foundry says, that game developer Remedy, better known for the Max Payne and Alan Wake franchises have dumbed down the graphics to to bring the triple-A game to the Xbox One.
“Quantum Break” is due to release on April 5, and until its release, it was thought the game would run with a 1080p resolution.
First off is Remedy’s thriller-ish 3rd person shooter Alan Wake, where your enemies are afraid of the light, and then there’s the timeless classic Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. However, Digital Foundry has discovered this is not entirely true after playing the game and running pixel count tests. Weather Quantum Break will do the same is anyone’s guess as of now.
Remedy’s SIGGRAPH report from 2015 leads us to believe that the game is in 1080p. According to an in-depth analysis of the game by Digital Foundry, the game does indeed run at 720p. Now that the release of the game is nearly here, a pre-release version of the time-bending game was released to the public.

However, we do not know if the PC version of Quantum Break will be locked to 30 frames per second or not. Limited to 1080p at 30fps, it still required plenty of work before launch, the piece continues. “The developer is promising a maximum 4K experience at 60fps, but it remains to be seen exactly how this will pan out, or exactly what kind of hardware will be required to make this happen”, said Digital Foundry.
