Paire takes first ATP title with win over Robredo at Bastad
German teenager Alex Zverev continued his run at the SkiStar Swedish Open on Friday, beating sixth-seed Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 to reach his second career ATP World Tour semifinal.

Robredo, the world number 21 from Spain, saved eight out of 10 break points before seeing off Alexander Zverev 6-3 6-4 in a tight, 82-minute semi-final. He failed to convert any of the additional six break chances.
Paire controlled the second set, breaking to establish a 4-2 lead before sealing victory in the clay-court event with a pair of aces. Playing a increasingly despondent Robredo, the 26-year-old eased himself to his first ATP title after an hour and 33 minutes.
The other semifinal in Bastad will see third-seeded Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas play France’s Benoit Paire.
First serves in was a key aspect for the Frenchman in today’s final as he won 81%.

In his fifth career final, Sousa will attempt to win his second title, after Kuala Lumpur in 2013.
