Apple Inc’s new iPhone SE has first-rate features and a relatively low price tag, but its prospects in key markets like China and India may be limited by its diminutive size. It means that the tablet can be purchased at a starting price of 9 for the Wi-Fi-only model with 16GB of storage.

Apple is also expected to bump up the camera capabilities, bringing it inline with later models.
While the iPhone SE borrows looks from the iPhone 5S, it shares the innards of the recently launched iPhone 6S.

The iPhone SE is a replacement for the old 5s, and features mostly the same hardware as the newer iPhone 6s but in a smaller package. Well, today, that’s precisely what Cook and his team unveiled, along with a smaller size Smart Keyboard designed for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.
And even though Cook has been outspoken about his opposition to a judge’s order compelling Apple to write software that overrides iPhone security features, tech analysts say he probably won’t risk overshadowing the company’s products by discussing the case at Monday’s event. It sports a 12-megapixel iSight rear camera sensor with dual-tone LED flash and a 5-megapixel FaceTime HD front camera sensor.
In a separate release, Apple claimed that it sold over 30 million 4-inch iPhones in the past one year, which would roughly contribute to 15 per cent of the company’s overall iPhone sales. It has the same chip and camera and the iPhone 6S and will be able to take “live photos”, the pictures that capture a bit of video before and after the moment when the picture is taken.
The invitation includes the four standard iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple MacBook finish colours, Space Grey, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold.
Indeed, the closest thing to excitement occurred at the beginning of the event, when Cook reaffirmed Apple’s determination to resist the U.S. government’s effort to get the company to bypass security features on an iPhone used by Syed Farook, the man behind the mass shootings in San Bernardino, Calif., so investigators can search for messages that could identify other terrorist threats. In the first quarter of 2016 itself, Apple shipped almost 800,000 iPhones, which is close to half of what it shipped in four quarters of the preceding fiscal year, according to a Thompson-Reuters report.
It’s clear that Apple isn’t going after the wow factor with the iPhone SE. And as with the iPhone SE, the internal components are top-drawer. “We built the iPhone for you, our customers”.
