“Some people simply love smaller phones”.

That makes the new SE what Apple called “the most powerful 4-inch smartphone ever”. This is quite small compared to the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s.

Inside the device, the iPhone SE comes with the same dual-core, 64-bit A9 processor and PowerVR GPU as the iPhone 6s, in addition to Apple’s M9 motion co-processor, which collects motion data. So there is no compromise on the performance, be it gaming or regular tasks. There’s also an upgraded 12-megapixel camera with Live Photos and 4K video, as well as Apple Pay support. It’s also created to deliver you a faster data access and an enhanced voice calling experience, using built-in Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) support.

Only 10 per cent of smartphones sold in India at the end of December had a four-inch screen, according to Counterpoint, and Apple accounted for only two per cent of overall smartphone shipments in India a year ago.

“Just going cheap doesn’t mean it’ll do well”, he said.

Early on in the hype fest, Apple CEO Tim Cook touted the maker’s 40th birthday on April 1, introduced a new “CareKit” program to help consumers manage their health care, and hailed Apple’s commitment to 100 percent renewable energy operations, already reached in the United States and China. The 16GB iPhone SE is priced at $399 while 64GB iPhone SE costs $499.

The new iPad Pro comes in silver, space grey, gold and a new rose gold metallic finish.

The iPhone 5se goes on sale this month with pre-orders starting March 24th and shipping May 31st.

On the Apple Watch front, the big news was a $50 price cut to $299 for the starter Sport model, plus more band colors and new woven bands.

Apple also showed off a new version of its iPad Pro, with a 9.7-inch screen and numerous features Apple offered with the 12-inch iPad Pro tablet that Apple introduced previous year – including the ability to work with a detachable keyboard and stylus. It is light as well weighing less than a pound.

Apple Inc. on Monday unveiled a new smartphone and tablet, both with smaller screens, in an effort to retool its product lineup of iPhones and iPads.

Making a leap from the iPhone 5S or even the iPhone 6, Apple fans will find that the iPhone is a small package that swells with power and speed. The new iPad also records crystal clear videos at 4K resolution. The 32GB variant is priced at $ 599 (approximately Rs 39,800), 128GB variant is priced at $749 (approximately Rs 49,800), and the 256GB variant costs at $899 (Rs 59,800 approximately). Preorders will start on March 24th, with availability set for March 31st. Apple says the demands violate the company’s rights and has argued that the government is asking for a “back door” that could be exploited by the government and criminals. But with that it left behind an audience that till date adores a compact size.
