A VADA test taken in the hours after his first world title triumph in Grozny against Ruslan Chagaev on March 5 was flagged for the decongestant drug – which is now on the banned list.

Goodman confirmed to The Associated Press that VADA conducted the test but said her organization doesn’t publicly release results.

VADA’s email to people involved in the Browne-Chagaev fight which took place in the Russian city of Grozny said: “This letter is to advise you that the ‘A” sample urine specimen number 2998060 collected from Lucas Browne… has been analyzed (sic) for anabolic agents, diuretics, beta-2 agonists and stimulants. The results of the analysis are as follows: Adverse.
The only response came from Browne’s twitter account, which simply read: “I don’t understand today’s news, and I’m seeking legal advice”.
WBA regular heavyweight champion Lucas Browne has vehemently denied reports of doping and will do all he can to clear his name.
Browne’s positive test has implications for Kiwi Joseph Parker, who is now rankled 11th in the WBA but is likely to rise if the Australian fails his “B” sample.
Clenbuterol is a powerful bronchodilator that is used to treat breathing disorders such as asthma, and also a thermogenic that is effective in the fat-burning process.
ESPN has reported Browne tested positive to clenbuterol in his “A sample” and no testing has been done of his “B sample” because of the testing agency demanding the Sydney-based fighter pay for the second round of testing.
Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador had his 2010 Tour de France win wiped from the record books and was banned for two years, after returning a positive sample containing Clenbuterol that same year.
