Trump, Clinton aim to pad delegate lead in Western states
The Texas senator seized on Trump’s past statement during his speech to pro-Israel activists on Monday.

“Clinton promising a return to a bipartisan and seemingly unconditional embrace of the political leadership of Israel is disheartening to many-especially many liberals, including plenty of Jewish liberals-who’d hoped to see America challenge Israel’s intransigent, increasingly right-wing leadership, rather than refuse to admit the existence of daylight between America’s aims and interests and those of the Netanyahu government”, Pareene wrote. “I have known him for many years, and we will be able to work closely together to help bring stability and peace to Israel and to the entire region”.
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Monday vowed an unbreakable USA alliance with Israel if he is elected president in November, seeking to clear up confusion over his repeated pledges to remain neutral in any peace negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians.
Cruz is chasing Trump in the Republican presidential primary. Trump in particular was under pressure to provide substance instead of his usual practice of speaking off-the-cuff without notes.
The crowd, which organizers estimated topped more than 18,000 and almost filled the Verizon Center, the downtown arena that houses Washington’s professional hockey and basketball teams, was at times very receptive to his remarks, at times more subdued. Trump, himself, did not address his past reference to neutrality as he took the stage just before Cruz. All three condemned Palestinians for what they said was the promotion of terror and Iran for its nuclear tests.
He received a large applause when he talked about moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv.
“This is going to the convention”, Kasich said on CNN.
Nina Gilbert, 47, an American-Israeli who works in Israel’s high-tech sector, said Israelis were simply looking forward to the day Obama leaves the White House.
“The values of our Reform Jewish Movement include equality, diversity, justice, humility, and civility”, say Rabbis Rick Jacobs and Jonah Pesner. None of those protests, though, appeared to interrupt the candidate’s speech.
“I feel so strongly that America can’t ever be neutral when it comes to Israel’s security or survival”.

“You’ll get a glimpse of a potential United States foreign policy that would insult our allies, not engage them, and embolden our adversaries, not defeat them”, Clinton said setting a hawkish tone. “Some things aren’t negotiable – and anyone who doesn’t understand that has no business being our president”. He sought to unify Republicans during a meeting earlier in the day with lawmakers and other members of the party elite.
