3D Touch: 3D Touch is perhaps the biggest miss in the iPhone SE.

Soon, consumers will be able to buy an updated iPad, and a 4-inch iPhone SE.

“iPhone SE is an exciting new idea – we started with a beloved, iconic design and reinvented it from the inside out”. The phone was launched at an event in California on March 21.

Dawson said he sees “significant pent-up demand within Apple’s base of iPhone owners who want a smaller iPhone with up-to-date specs and newer features”.

Priced at the £277/£346, the iPhone SE is the “most affordable” device Apple has ever released, the company said.

For most, the difference in speed will be negligible; if you’re coming from something like the iPad 2 or even the iPad Air 2, you’ll certainly notice a boost in performance. It also has the TouchID fingerprint sensor to support Apple pay. The new iPad Pro will be 9.7 inches in size and will cost starting at $599.

The device will be available for pre-order in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the UK, US Virgin Islands and the US from 24 March, and on sale on Thursday 31 March.

Apple has unveiled a new smartphone and tablet, both with smaller screens, as part of the company’s efforts to retool its iPhones and iPads. It’s got the same built-in stereo speakers found in the four corners of the device, the same Apple A9X processor, and the same support for the Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard. The phone features a 5.1-inch Quad-HD Super Amoled display and sports a dual-edge display. The device’s camera also includes notable improvements from Apple’s last 4-inch offering.
