Battleborn beta begins April 8 for PS4, April

Kicking off on April 8th for PlayStation 4 and April 13th on Xbox One and PC, ahead of the game’s May 3rd release. Pre-loading for the game begins on April 6th, and you’ll need 8.5GB of space on PS4, 11GB on Xbox One, and 12 on PC.

You can find more information on Battleborn’s upcoming open beta here on the official Battleborn blog. However, progress made during the beta will not carry over to the full game. The names used for each are a bit different than we’ve seen in some of the game’s competitors but none of the three progression mechanics should seem all that foreign to experienced MOBA players.

That’s the prelude to the game’s newly announced episode format. Increasing Character Rank unlocks Mutations, which are extra Augments that become available on the Helix Menu.

Also on offer will be competitive multiplayer in the form of Incursion – destroy the enemy’s drones before they destroy yours – and Meltdown, which will have you sending minions to the death, scoring points for every minion that throws themselves into the incinerator.
