Easter Egg Drop’s 5000 eggs delight kids at annual event

Wallowa: 10 a.m. Saturday at Lions Park; ages 11 and under; Easter Bunny will be visiting; bring a basket; conducted by Wallowa Volunteer Fire Department. As children began the hunt, a helicopter flew overhead and dropped more eggs as children got even more excited and determined to get a ton of candy filled Easter eggs.

“We have five different group divisions because when you do one large egg hunt and you have kids, ages 0-12, you can have injuries”, Guerrero said.

Each of the four hunt areas will have two gold-colored eggs that can be exchanged for prizes that include a huge Easter basket, Recreation Assistant Program Manager Tim Hanlon said.

At the morning egg hunt, the older groups cleaned up the eggs pretty quickly, obviously on a mission.

– On Easter Sunday, starting at 8:30 a.m., Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5625 US 1 N., Palm Coast, will be the location of an Easter brunch and egg hunt.

The annual Easter egg hunt is coordinated by the College Station Police Dept. Sgt. Sean Beatty said the officers enjoy the day just as much as the participants. Other eggs will have vouchers for a free small order of fries from McDonald’s, temporary tattoos, stick-on jewelry, bracelets and rings.

The Twin Cities Church Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for 9 a.m. on the field at Scotten Elementary School.

Eleven year old Kelany Arellano has participated in the event for several years, she said. Registration will begin as early as 5 p.m. About 150 people attended the event, said Firefighter Matt Goodmiller, who coordinated the event.

On Saturday, March 26, there will be Breakfast with the Easter Bunny from 8 to 10 a.m.in the Fellowship Hall at the Gilford Community Church.

Rosa Maldonado, Recreation Supervisor with Hammond Parks and Recreation stated, “We have a lot of eggs, and a lot of good prizes”. “For some of these kids, it’s the only Easter egg hunt they’ll get to have”.
