Tod Leiweke to become NFL’s Chief Operating Officer, resigns as Tampa Bay
Tod Leiweke is stepping down from his post as CEO of the Tampa Bay Lightning to take a job as chief operating officer with the NFL.

Leiweke, 55, resigned Friday from the Lightning and will transition to the NFL next month, reported by a statement on the team website. Lightning President Steve Griggs will be his successor.
Leiweke has worked for the Lightning for five years after coming from the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks.
“Tod has been instrumental in our franchise transformation and I am grateful for all his work and dedication”, Jeff Vinik, the Lightning’s chairman, stated in a media release. Steve is ready for the additional responsibilities that come with being the CEO. He supported because the” President from 2003 to “10 before joining the Lightning. The Lightning have projected a season ticket base of more than 13,000 for the upcoming season.
