Twitter testing new ‘Stickers’ feature
Twitter is testing a new feature called “Stickers” to add images to photos before tweeting them, tech news site Re.code reported. The company is said to be including a feature where other users, from around the globe, can see how others have edited the same photo. That’s because this product info is from a test the company is running with some users as a way to garner feedback on Stickers (including whether or not people like that name). According to a Twitter spokesperson who spoke to Re/code, “We’re always researching potential new ways to make Twitter more expressive”. In the past couple of years, several changes have been made to it, such as the addition of filters and updates to allow users to include photos in their timelines and tweets. Intriguingly, testers have been told that it will be possible to see how other users have edited the same image – opening up the possibility that Twitter wants to provide people with a meme creator. From this, the user’s can upload stickers as Photos from their account.

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves as this is still in the research phase so there’s no telling whether Twitter will actually make this service available to the rest of the world. Other such moves have included showing full size previews within people’s tweets, and showing users their camera roll when they go to compose a tweet on mobile.
Snapchat and Facebook already let users annotate their photos, messages and “snaps” with a range of animated pictures and it seems Twitter is playing catch-up.
Twitter might soon enter the stickers game.

Various suggestions are under consideration as options for the name of this new feature such as Stickits, Taptags, and Stamptags. The new feature might attract the emoji fans and make them more expressive than the previous version of Twitter.
