Carmelo Anthony Thinks Cleveland Cavaliers Drama Is “Comical”

Both James and Wade are free agents after this year, with Paul being one after the 2017-18 season and Anthony the following year. Miami? The wounds are still open from James’ departure and the team’s contending status could push Pat Riley’s arrogance far enough to shut the door on an LBJ return.

The four men have developed a strong bond over the years and a late-career run together would be special, even if it happened after each player passed his prime. It’s always something that they blow up; him unfollowing the organization.

Whether fair or foul, Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James will forever be compared.

Today in a longer feature about the friendship between LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony by Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck, LeBron revealed that he’s thought out teaming up with Anthony, Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade (aka his best friends in the NBA) and said he’d take a pay cut to do so.

“Their drama is more comical”, Anthony said. “At least one, maybe one or two seasons-me, Melo D-Wade, CP-we can get a year in”.

Anthony has a no-trade clause in his contract and has repeatedly reiterated his desire to remain in NY and turn things around. LeBron could be a free agent, but he’ll probably seek a max this summer too.

The logistics of James, Paul, Anthony and Wade playing together make it unlikely that it will happen anytime soon.

“This is not a punishment”, Rambis said.

Anthony’s trip ended with him suffering from a migraine headache that forced him to miss Sunday’s loss to Sacramento. On Tuesday, Anthony’s long-time friend and former coach at Syracuse, Jim Boeheim, reiterated on The Michael Kay Radio Show that he advised Anthony to join the Chicago Bulls. But he has come off the bench in four of the last five since returning from a two-game absence because of a strained abdominal. “For myself, I approach it different ways different seasons but I’m looking forward to it. But I’m not going to shortcut the process of what we have left still in the regular season”.
