NFL Approves Ejection Proposal For 1-Year Trial
NFL owners approved a new “two-strikes-and-you’re-out” automatic ejection rule for NFL games next season at the NFL owners meetings in Boca Raton, Fla. on Wednesday morning.

Two Unsportsmanlike Conduct Penalties = Ejection Last season, Odell Beckham Jr. and Vontaze Burfict made headlines for their inappropriate play – though since both were flagged for unnecessary roughness, this new rule wouldn’t have affected them.
The league’s competition committee will make a proposal to the owners at their meeting in May that would modify the sport’s replay rules, according to Atlanta Falcons President Rich McKay, the committee’s chairman. “We have not been able to affect sportsmanship in the way we think we need to, so this year we have another section on sportsmanship”. “On the other hand, I’ve also been very open over the last several years that we have had discussions about the discipline process for decades”.
The NFL adopted two more changes to its rules on Wednesday after approving seven changes on Tuesday. “Your classic horse collar [is] where the defensive player gets inside the collar of either the jersey or the shoulder pad from behind or the side, and pulls the runner toward the ground”.
Goodell hasn’t officially lost his power to give the final ruling on players’ discipline, but as of now he does not have final say for the implementing of new rules. We can’t fix that.’ What do you mean we can’t fix it? Not that I had players who were…. Other rule changes were so small that you probably won’t notice them next season.
The committee also approved a proposal that permanently leaves extra-point attempts at the 15-yard line.
The extra point snaps from the 15 were an experiment for 2015 that worked so well that making it permanent was a given.
Do you expect more or less returns in 2016 as a result of this rule?
Offensive and defensive playcallers can now communicate with players on the field directly regardless of whether they are on the field or in the booth.
In an exclusive interview with Texans Radio, Smith shared insight behind some of the proposed rule changes by the competition committee.
RANDLE TO EAGLES: The Eagles signed WR Rueben Randle (Giants) to a one-year contract.
He said a regular season game in China would increase the NFL’s popularity there and that there was no shortage of teams lining up to make the trip. While the National Football League wants this process to stem more from teams asking players to go on the list, the NFLPA does not want as broad of an outlook imposed regarding this policy, per ProFootballTalk’s report.
