Odebralski says the pilot radioed the tower at Riverside Municipal Airport around 5 p.m.to report losing engine power.

The plane then crashed in the 4500 block of Adams Street, coming to a stop on a sidewalk and through a fence in the backyard of a home, the fire official said.

The plane caught fire, but the flames were quickly doused and nobody on the ground was hurt, fire officials said. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash, which left 350 people in the area without power, as reported by Riverside Public Utilities.
