A Palestinian man has been shot and killed after Israeli forces attacked a residential area in the West Bank town of Beit Ummar.

Falah Abu Maria, 53, was killed by three live bullets shot at his chest at close range, said Yousef Takrouri, deputy director of Al Ahli Hospital in the West Bank city of Hebron.
He had run to the upstairs balcony to call for an ambulance after his son Mohammed was wounded while being arrested by the army, wife Fayqa told AFP.
The hospital stated 24-yr-previous Mohammed was being handled for a gunshot wound to the pelvis.
However, an Israeli military spokesperson said that the police officers conducting the raid had been attacked.
The killings are the latest in a series of similar incidents in recent months as Israeli soldiers have been intensifying their attacks against Palestinians.
The IDF soldiers were pelted with stones by relatives and locals around the scene of the arrest, and one soldier was choked, the reports said.
The spokeswoman could not confirm his identity but acknowledged that the wanted suspect was not taken into custody. “The forces responded with fire towards the main instigator”.
The witness said Alawneh picked up a stone to throw at a policeman and was then shot.
On Wednesday, a Palestinian was killed in a separate arrest raid when clashes erupted with residents.
Reported by Israel Radio, a mob of Palestinians met incoming IDF soldiers with a hail of Molotov cocktails and rocks.
Alawneh was shot in the chest and died shortly after arriving at hospital in Jenin, as stated by a Palestinian medic. He says Abu Maria’s 22-year-old son was shot in the legs. The Palestinians condemn this practise as an encroachment on the limited self-rule they hold in parts of the West Bank.
Hamas and Islamic Jihad groups hinted at revenge after Thursday’s death.
“The two movements stress our people’s right to self-defence and to a response to the crimes of the occupation, by all possible and available means”.

“Stop creating this damaging climate immediately”, he added, referring to Israel. Another member of the family was also shot and injured in the knee.
