Cruz emboldened, but needs a near miracle
For starters, the people who voted for Trump in the primaries may not vote in the general election, which would assure a victory for Hillary Clinton.

Trump’s favorabillity rating is low, with 68% of Americans viewing him unfavorably, while 53% see Clinton that way.
Some conservatives, led by rival Ted Cruz, continue to resist Trump’s rise toward the nomination, charging that the NY billionaire is not a true conservative. There is only one Republican elected official exclusively from Brooklyn and the party has been wracked by infighting for several years.
He added, “It is men and women in upstate NY or western NY who would like to work and have high paying jobs, but liberal politicians prohibit fracking, so they don’t get the same high paying jobs the people in Pennsylvania get”.
Bush, who quit his campaign last month after a poor start to the primary season, sent a fundraising email on Cruz’s behalf to his supporters, urging them to help “overcome the divisiveness and vulgarity” of Trump.
“In addition, Americans don’t hold especially favorable views of the country’s two major political parties – although the Democratic Party fares better”, continued CBS.
Business mogul Trump got 47 percent of the vote in Arizona, followed by Cruz with 25 percent and Ohio Gov. John Kasich with 10 percent, according to The New York Times.
Hillary’s 52 percent unfavorable rating is larger than her husband’s two unfavorable ratings; in 1992, Bill Clinton had a 41 unfavorable rating and in 1996 he had a 38 percent unfavorable rating.
Trump responded on Twitter, dismissing Clinton’s remarks.
Even though Cruz and Trump were in agreement on terrorism “patrols”, their bitterness was on display Tuesday night over an ad that a SuperPAC ran attacking Trump’s wife Melania with an ad featuring her posing nude and the tagline, “Meet Melania Trump: Your Next First Lady”.
Republicans ages 55+ prefer Trump (50 percent) over Cruz (30 percent) and Kasich (15 percent).
Jeb Bush’s announcement came on Wednesday, shortly after Trump claimed yet another primary win in the state of Arizona.
“We are thrilled to welcome Republican presidential candidate and fellow New Yorker Donald Trump to our event”, state GOP Chairman Ed Cox said in a statement.
But time is running out to defeat Mr Trump before the Republican convention in July.
Mr. Kasich rebuffed renewed calls for him to drop out to allow Mr. Cruz to corral the votes of anti-Trump voters in the remaining primaries. The idea is to deny Mr Trump the required 1,237 delegates needed and force party leaders to consider someone else. He leads Kasich 51 to 43.
