Man United tops Barcelona 3-1 in International Champions Cup

Manchester United and Paris St Germain have agreed on a €63m (about £45m) fee for the transfer of Argentine Angel Di Maria to the French capital, according to reports in France.

The Daily Mail said Van Gaal had informed United’s players that Di Maria was set to join PSG.

He pointed out that United had also beaten the then reigning European champions – Real Madrid – in pre-season last year, before losing to Swansea in their opening league match.

“Chelsea have Hazard”, Van Gaal said to reporters in San Jose.

“I have heard that he was not on the plane”, he reiterated. You can write every player that you want, every name that you can say, but we cannot say that.

Louis van Gaal gave Di Maria, Marcos Rojo and Javier Hernandez an extended period of leave this summer following their worldwide commitments at the Copa America and Gold Cup.

“Of course, I know that this is preseason”.

Enrique spoke to the press after the game and backed his counterpart Louis Van Gaal to lead his side to emulate Barcelona’s treble winning campaign.

The Spaniard, who is wanted by Real Madrid, denied Sergi Roberto a goal when the Barcelona midfielder was clean through in the first half, and grew in confidence from there on.

Van Gaal also saluted the scoring cameo of young Belgian global Januzaj.

“That is always the difference in the game”. “We know him from when he was at Barcelona and you have to remember that one of our best players of the past 15 years, Xavi, was brought through by Van Gaal“.

“That is very important”.

Van Gaal’s preparations for the new season have gone well so far.

Rafinha finally breached the United defence in the closing minutes with a crisp left-foot volley, before Januzaj restored United’s two-goal advantage by turning and finishing clinically in stoppage time as Barca were caught out at the back.

Depay wrote: “Good result against Barcelona PSG next”. “I hope that he can play and I think he can”.
