Ben Carson on ‘The View’: Nice guys lose

“I’m thinking about the big picture”, Carson said.

He went on to tweet that the show became a “total disaster” after Barbara Walters left and that ABC was wasting people’s time.

Not nowhere, Ben: You’re on The View.

“I’m sorry”, Goldberg said, “but he’s a racist!”

“When I dropped out, my first choice went with me”.

But Goldberg seemingly couldn’t process how Carson could support Trump, accusing the GOP frontrunner of bashing women and making “countless racist remarks”.

Whoopi then launched into full-on rant about Trump’s racism that she punctuated with, “You’re Ben Carson! I don’t condone it from anybody”, he said.

Goldberg could not accept that explanation.

“What I have to do is look at who is most likely to oppose the ruling class that is ruining our country”, Carson said.

“The View” itself, we should note, has been criticized for over-the-line commentary during this campaign, when the hosts joked that Republican candidate Carly Fiorina’s face looked “demented” during a debate and would make a good Halloween mask. “We have to save this nation”. “But he’s a liar”, she said to Carson.

During her own turn at the punching bag that was Ben Carson, Joy Behar recalled that Trump has also taken shots at the retired neurosurgeon, including comparing him to a child molester. “Clearly John Kasich has a better chance of stopping Donald Trump in OH than I do”, Rubio told reporters on Friday, encouraging his supporters in OH to vote for Kasich next week. On Friday he said that Trump is honest in his talk about making America great again, and that he is on board to help him.

Finally, before the commercial break, he was asked about Trump’s passive-aggressive attack on Ted Cruz’s wife.

Carson replied, “When you’re very nice, you are respectful, you talk about the real issues and not get into all these issues, where does it get you?” Where does it get you?

Co-host Paula Faris called Goldberg out, saying, “I don’t necessarily think that’s fair”, and added, “It’s clear you guys don’t support him”. “My point is he and some of the other politicians, they do what people want. They say what people want to hear”.

When host Whoopi Goldberg interjected, declaring “that’s how Hitler got in”, Carson again defended Trump: “It’s an important voice and it needs to be out there”.
