Browns host free-agent quarterback RG3
Some names were thrown into the mix which initially included ex-Denver Broncos star Brock Osweiler, Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers and even the widely popular Tim Tebow. He indicated that the Browns were the ones who were contacted about Kaepernick, so naturally they had some “preliminary discussions” about a move, but that “it didn’t go much further than that”. And according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the two sides agreed to a deal.

Combine that with the urgency to win and it would explain why the Cleveland Browns head coach is showing considerable interest in more experienced options ahead of the draft.
Though, the interest Cleveland possesses in RGIII could very well be genuine.
“He has been drawn to [new Browns coach] Hue Jackson”.
The Washington Post said in a report that he may finally get a contract offer after leaving positive impressions in two visits with the Cleveland Browns and the New York Jets, but both visits did not result to any verbal agreement or at least some mutual understanding. Signing RG3 would signify the end of Josh McCown’s tenure in Cleveland, which I believe to be a mistake. Pro Football Talk reported over the weekend that the Browns were calling people around the league to ask about Griffin and especially about his character.
“He’s just got to go in there and complete and I think that’s going to be up to whatever coach signs him”, Gruden said. “And, again, at the same time, nothing’s decided or anything but I felt better about him because he answered some questions that I had and I think he represented himself the right way”.
“It was a great meeting.
“I think we all know he’s a talented player, he’s a good person, a good young man”.
He also said he needed to hear “a lot” from the 2012 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year about why things didn’t work out his last three seasons in Washington, including last season when he lost his job to Kirk Cousins. But as we all know those things happen with players.
“One thing Sashi said a long time ago, we’re going to take every shot we can to improve the position”, Jackson said. “He’s trying to find a football team that will best fit him and we’ll see how all that unfolds”.

Brown also said acquiring a veteran quarterback wouldn’t preclude the organization from drafting a quarterback high April 28.
