Google’s Nik Collection Image Editing Software Is Now Free
Since yesterday Analog Efex Pro, Color Efex Pro, Silver Efex Pro, Viveza, HDR Efex Pro, Sharpener Pro and Dfine have all been freely available to download, with Google probably focusing more on the data it generates from a larger userbase, than the finance it received for what was a niche clientele. Since then, many of Snapseed’s features have been integrated into Google’s various photo products.

Google has released the Nik Collection of Lightroom and Photoshop plugins for free. After Google acquired Nik Software in 2012, they dropped the price of this bundle from $499 to $149, and beginning today, it’s going to be free. Analog Efex Pro, for example, can help create the look of film, while Color Efex Pro and Silver Efex Pro are for tuning color and black-and-white images, respectively.
For photography enthusiasts and professionals, this is a pretty big deal. You can check out the Nik Collection by hitting the source below. Sharpener Pro offers sharpening tools and Dfine is for noise reduction.
In the Google+ post from Nik Collection, they also noted that if you bought the collection in 2016, you will be receiving a refund for your purchase.
The desktop suite consists of the following tools that integrate with popular image editing programs such as Photoshop, Lightroom or Aperture.
Those applications allow photographers to edit their photos and include filter applications for improving color correction, the ability to retouch photos, and the ability to add creative effects to photos.
