In a message regarding Holi, the Chief Minister said that all the minorities in Pakistan have religious freedom and complete security.
The most compact celebration of Holi is arranged in Umarkot, Sindh where PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto will also participate in the function to show solidarity with the minorities and will also address the attendees of the event.
“Peoples Party’s manifesto is based on equality…” The PPP-led Sindh government has declared a public holiday throughout the province for the first time in the history of Pakistan. “It can not be that Pakistan for Muslims is different from Pakistan for the minorities”.
“Every citizen including women and the minority communities have to play a proactive and efficient role for the development of Pakistan or else we can not achieve progress while leaving women, minorities and other segments of society behind”, he said and appealed to women to strengthen his hands to achieve these goals.
Chairman PPP demanded from the national assembly to legislate the protection of minority rights.
He said that Umerkot district was the abode of legendary characters like Marvi and Bakhtawar while people of the district always supported the PPP.
At the occasion advocate Zafar Ali Laghari of Muslim League Functional announced to quit PML-F and joined PPP.
