Clinton Says Cruz and Trump Rhetoric ‘Plays Into the Hands of Terrorists’
With the GOP presidential race basically a two-man contest, Cruz, the Texas Republican, took a calculated risk on Thursday to get down in the mud with the frontrunner after Trump retweeted an unflattering photo of his wife, Heidi Cruz.

Bolduan said she had spent all morning refereeing arguments between Cruz and Trump supporters over the rumors, which she said had not been confirmed by credible reporting. That ad was produced by an anti-Trump super PAC, Make America Awesome, which has no known connection to the Cruz campaign.
“I think we have to change our law on, you know, the waterboarding thing, where they can chop off heads and they can drown people in cages and heavy steel cages and we can’t waterboard”, Trump told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. “But if you mess with my wife, you mess with my kids, that’ll do it every time“. “Donald, if you try to attack Heidi, you’re more of a coward than I thought”, Cruz said.
In response to Mr Cruz’s comments, Mr Trump’s spokeswoman Hope Hicks said: “There is absolutely no truth to this”.
Analysts say the establishment embrace is not likely to damage Cruz’s ability to campaign as an alternative to Washington.
Obama’s remark followed the Republican Presidential front runner Donald Trump’s recommendation who advocated for torture and heightened police scrutiny of neighborhoods with large Muslim populations.
In the race to amass the 1,247 delegates needed to secure the party’s nomination, Mr Trump leads Mr Cruz by a margin of 739 to 465.
In a Twitter war, Trump threatened to “spill the beans” on Heidi Cruz after a pro-Cruz superPAC mocked Melania Trump first lady potential in an ad that featured a fashion shot of the former model nude on a fur rug.
“I’m going to beat Donald for the nomination”, Cruz responded, before saying three times: “Donald Trump will not be the nominee”. He accused Mr Trump and “his henchmen” for spreading untrue rumours that Mr Cruz cheated on his wife, Heidi.
“When the heroes of NYPD stood up and turned their backs on Mayor de Blasio, they spoke not just for the men and women of NY, but for Americans all across this nation”, Cruz charged.
Bill Bratton, Commissioner of the NY police department which has more than 900 Muslim officers, said: “He doesn’t know what the Hell he is talking about”.
The Enquirer’s story has exploded in Twitter.
Trump has a problem with women.
Trump has been widely criticized for his controversial statements, including in relation to immigrants, Muslims, and women.
